Three years later, Wilson and the Boys would surpass the master with a song that lifted the notion of the sophisticated love song clean into the heavens. In 1963, Brian Wilson was so obsessed with Phil Spector’s orchestral vision for the Ronettes’ ‘Be My Baby’ that he reportedly took to listening to it 100 times a day. When that happens, head to our list of the best breakup songs instead. Of course, there are days when a great love song is the last thing you want to hear. Sometimes the music says as much as the words sometimes the words are more powerful than the most beautiful of poems. They’re touching, comforting and uplifting all at the same time. The only constant is that the best love songs express sentiments that we’d struggle to put into words in real life. While you’ll find some great pop ballads on this list, they’re foremost here as a reflection of the glorious breadth of what constitutes a love song, a form claimed by no one genre.

And yes, there have been a lot of syrupy, formulaic declarations of affection churned out for the pop charts over the years, but that’s not what we’re about here. I have to load the Connect web page in the browser, open the trip, export it to GPX, then open a file manager, find the GPX file and share with email, then send it to myself. From yearning ballads to wrenching declarations of need, from madrigals to metal, the history of music is the history of love songs, and vice versa. I can share a photo (of what?) or post it all on the web, but there's no way to export the GPS track.

Turn on bluetooth, log in to and run the Connect App on my phone, this shows me screens full of data about steps, floors and things which I've no interest in, but among that are some details of the track and even a small map.

Getting the data off the watch and onto my PC is a different matter. The watch is impressive, and I can even set up customised screens to show multiple data items such as average speed, current speed, position in lat/long and OS grid. I have a Garmin Fenix watch which I use to record GPS tracks so that I know where I've been and can analyse speed, etc, afterwards.

My impression is that Garmin have a single fixed idea about how they expect you to use the device, and the software is written for that single expectation. If anyone knows a website or even a youtube vidoe or whatever that could help with this, I would be grateful. how on earth has Garmin stayed on top of this market with such dire user interfaces? Then how do I make sure the route formed in paddleplanner is in there and works on that map?

The vendor assures me all i need to do is plug it into the SD slot. I have an SD card coming from Canada, loaded with the the necessary maps. I have another gpx route created using paddleplanner. i have created a test route in the OS app.

Aside from the quaint 1980s arcade game interface on the screen, I am struggling to figure out how to do the following, even after much googling: I thought all this tech stuff had become Apple-fied and much more seamless. I have used their fitness devices for decades as well, and always thought the hardware was great, the software was dire.įor a number of reasons, I now want to load a map on a handheld and then follow a route created in a different program. I have had a couple different handheld Garmins since the 90s, but have only ever used them for the national lottery like giant finger coming down saying ' you are right here' and then using a paper map to navigate.
